Decorah Cleaners in Decorah, IA is looking for a full-time or part-time clerk paying $12 per hour contingent on experience. 20-40 hours per week. The individual must be detailed oriented, time efficient, friendly, and respectful to customers.

Typical job responsibilities include:

Set up and operation of machinery to wash or dry-clean clothing, blankets, rugs, and other items.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Labeling items upon receipt and including cleaning instructions with items.
• Removing spots and stains using appropriate solvents, chemicals, detergents, or other provided cleaning agents.
• Operating dry cleaning machines, washers, and dryers.
• Clean, press, iron, and steam clothing and other fabric items.
• Hanging or folding items when cleaning process is complete.
• Entering in Square when items are ready for pick up or delivery.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Abilities/Skills:

• Ability to communicate with customers regarding requesting cleaning methods and stain removal.
• Ability to read and follow instructions for use of cleaning agents.
• Ability to operate washers, dryers, and dry-cleaning equipment.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous related experience is preferred, but on the job, training is provided.
• Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of standing and working in humid, hot environment.
• Must be able to lift 25-30 lbs. at a time to load and unload items.
